12 hours?
« on: September 27, 2006, 14:29:44 pm »
Quick question, if my lo is getting up at 6am to eat, does that mean she should be in bed by 6pm? or does it depend on which routine she is on? currently on 3 hour EASY (she's 8 wks old and still waking up once or twice a night, but not to eat, only get some attention and goes back to bed)

Do you do a dreamfeed? Or is she going for 12 hours without food?

12 hours without food is a long time at 8 weeks. What time do you currently put your LO to bed?
I would say stick with 6:30-7pm

S 1PM

E 3PM

S 4:30PM

S 7:30PM

E 9PM
A BATH BED JAMMIES
S 10PM

Sometimes we do a dream feed, sometimes not. When my lo doesnt want to eat, gums are slammed shut and not a thing I can do about it  :-\

Typically wakes at about 2:30am.. takes an ounce sometimes less sometimes a bit more. Then wakes at several times between 4-6am but wont eat just wants a cuddle and back to bed. Then wakes up at 6am to start the day.

Lisa,

At 8 weeks, if your lo wakes up at 6 I would suggest feeding her.

By the looks of it - you have gotten her onto a good routine  ;D

I agree the routine is pretty good, but I would still higly recomend a 7pm bedtime and a dreamfeed for 10:30pm

Some babies like a bottle right before night-time, my wee one still does. But it is quite important that she is awake when you put her down after it. If she falls asleep on the bottle maybe it is better to give her tha bath after...

The goal is to have her awake when out to bed deffinitly. But if she does fall asleep once in a while thats ok, as long as it doesn't become a habbit. The key is finding what workd for your LO.
