Refusing morning feed
« on: September 27, 2006, 15:01:13 pm »
Hi there,

My lo goes to bed at 7:30pm and wakes at 10:30pm and 3:30pm for feedings at night.  He ususally stirs around 5:30pm but I use shh-pat to put him back to sleep until 7am, his wake up time.

Lately he has been refusing his 7am feeding or will only nurse for 2-3 minutes.  He has 60 of activity time, then a 15 minute wind down and then takes his first nap.  He usually wakes after 45 minutes and sometimes I can't extend the nap because he's hungry.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get that first morning feeding off to a good start?

I'ma ssuming these later times are all a.m?

How well does he feed at 3.30am. Could you experiment with giving him less feeding time?

Or at 7am give him 5-10 minutes to wake up and see if he takes more.

Anyone else? Consider this 'bumped' for other people to answer after my rubbish suggestions!
