Is he hungry? Do you need to feed him when he wakes up at that time?

suca, this is probably not what you want to hear, but that's really amazing for his age. I mean, that's wayyy better than average.

There's some early waking info and support in the general sleep forum, you might give that a look if you feel it's necessary.

I know..compared to where we were a few weeks ago with a number of night wakings..to virtually no night wakings but very early morning start is brilliant.  The problem is he is not ready to be up for the day and when he starts off this early it normally upsets the whole day (naps can be a nightmare ..45 mins ones) also his feeding becomes an issue aswell (he has reflux and is way worse when he has not had enough sleep).

I'll check out the threads u recomend.

Oh get this  ...daddy decided to give me a break this morning..he told me last night he would get up with him and then DS slept till 6.30!

welcome to my world!  We are in the same boat but at 8 mos!  You are lucky he is sleeping through the night but once you get a taste of it you can't live with out it!  My son had reflux as well, the Dr. eventually put him on meds.  I am not much help, but I do know what you are going through and it is hard. The only thing I know that works for me is to NOT go in his room before a certain time- which is usually 6AM- unless he is screaming and then I know he is hungry.  Good luck!

Tell your DS to be quiet and maybe he can call Jacob and the two can gab on the phone for a while and let us sleep!   ;)  Seriously, Jacob does this all the time.  Most of the time I can resettle him fairly quickly (I really don't want him waking his big brother up...) but then there are mornings when he has a rogue early morning poop that seems to wake him.  Once he's changed (quickly!!) he does go back to sleep.  Eventually.  ::)
