How does this sound?
« on: September 29, 2006, 11:47:03 am »
I'm trying this routine with my ds who is 10 months old. Until now I have just followed his cues, but now things have gone haywire. (I posted about it this morning at 2am in the general sleep forum) How does this routine sound? Obviously I will tweak it through trial and error.

7.00am - wake and breastfeed, then play
8.00am - breakfast
8.30am - wash, get dressed and play
9.20am - breastfeed
9.30am - nap (aiming for 1.5 hours)
10.30am - snack
11.00am - play
12.00pm - lunch
12.30pm - play
12.50pm - breastfeed
1.00pm - nap (aiming for 1.5 hours)
3.00pm - snack and breastfeed
3.30pm - play
5.00pm - dinner
5.30pm - play
6.30pm - supper
6.45pm - bath
7.00pm - breastfeed
7.15pm - bed

Have I missed anything?

TIA.

Hi there,

Is he nursing to sleep? Why is he eating so often? At 10 months he should be having 3 meals and a snack in the afternoon. I'm confused as to why he's eating so many times.

Yeah, he breastfeeds before his naps/to sleep at the moment, which is something we're trying to stop. But it happens, so I wrote it down.

He get's 4 meals as it was suggested by the HV to give him a supper before bed since he's been feeding so much at night, to try and help to fill him up during the daytime. He doesn't always eat this, but he has the chance if he's still hungry.

The morning snack is usually something simple like a cracker or rice cake, and the afternoon snack would be something a bit more than that. Some fruit and raisens for example.
