Help - problem with dreamfeed LO waking up!
« on: September 29, 2006, 17:52:33 pm »
Hi there

I am currently following a 3 hour EASY (roughly not strict with times) with a bedtime routine around 7pm followed by a dreamfeed between 10.30-11pm the problem is my LO has started waking up for the dreamfeed!

I think she is now used to it and is expecting it so wakes up for it, this in itself isnt a problem as she goes straight back to sleep but it seems to trigger the 3 hour rountine through the night so she wakes following the dreamfeed every 3 hours and wants feeding.

Should I stop the the d/f? before she was only waking once in the night around 4am.

She is 15 weeks today and takes 2-3oz in her first feed of the day, 4-5oz throughout the day and same at the d/f. She will the take about 3oz each waking in the night.

Please can someone offer any suggestions why this is happening??

Thanks  ???

Have you tried giving the dreamfeed closer to 10:00?  It could be that your lo is hungry and this is why she is waking.

Giving her the dreamfeed closer to 10:00 may eliminate this.

HI

I two had problems doing a dreamfeed w/my twins as each of them either woke up or would be half asleep and would therefore wake up.  What helped me was feeding them 10mins or so early or feed them when they are in deep sleep. I'd also not have the TV on and would feed practically in the dark.
