I don't know what the official word is (I should probably ask our Ped at our next appt), but DD usually gets at most 3 eggs per week. Some weeks she gets none. I think I would probably not give her eggs daily even if it was OK to do so...

I do no more than 3 eggs a week seeing as how thats the advice for adults as well, I don't know what the actual advice by the professionals is though.

often wondered the same myself....lily loves her scrambled egg for tea and often refuses her tea on other evenings when there isnt egg.  Annabelle Karmel doesnt say in her books either.

There used to be a limit for adults for only a certain amount of eggs per week but that has been lifted now. i have two a day, have done since I was little and it only does me good, never any harm. Holly had an egg for her tea for a long time before she was ready for lumpier food, the only side effect we ever had was smelly nappies!!!!

Here you I found this for you. There used to be a restriction cos of cholestorel level, but if you read below the how many eggs bit it says that cholestorol in eggs is nothing compared to the fats we eat so as long as we eat eggs within in varied diet (ie not in a huge greasy fry up every day!) they will do no harm.

Hope this helps.

Lilah eats an egg almost every morning.  She loves it, and then I know she's eaten at least some protein and good fats early in the day.  Eggs are loaded with all kinds of nutritious goodies, including iron and folate, as well as protein.  And young children actually need cholesterol in their diets to provide the building blocks for myelin development (myelin is a substance that coats the neurons), which is why parents of vegan children are advised to breastfeed to at least two years of age-- since the vegan diet doesn't provide any cholesterol, breastmilk is the only way a child will get it.  I also find eggs to be handy ways to get veggies into a child-- frittatas and omelettes are really good vehicles for those.

Anyway, I am a big fan of eggs myself, and while I don't eat one every day, I don't fret about the weeks that I might eat more than one per day.

wow that's great news that eggs aren't as problematic as I thought.  They are Rachels fave food and she can now enjoy them even more regularly - omlette for tea today I think.

Why dodn't we share our Favourite egg recipes?

Holly's favourite at the moment is eggy bread.

Beat one egg in a bowl and then soak a piece of bread in the mixture, put a tiny bit of oil in a pan and fry the bread. Serve as it is.
I guess this is just French Toast? But I only ever serve it with ketchup, not maple syrup, too surgary.

here is a really fun one which makes Rachel smile

TOASTED EGG SMILES

Prepare a Frying Pan with either pats of butter or non-stick spray.
1 Slice of Bread, 1 Egg, 1/4 c Milk, Small slice of cheese

Take the bread slice and cut out 2 circles for eyes and a longer curved hole for a mouth below the "eyes". Butter one side of bread and lay in warmed frying pan, butter side down.

As bread begins to fry, Scramble egg and milk together (OR you may simply crack a whole egg over the bread in the pan without adding milk or scrambling).

Pour scrambled egg over the bread. Flip bread/egg when the egg showing thru the "eyes" and "mouth" becomes firm.
Fry for another 5-10 minutes depending on your cook top temperature.
Prior to taking out of pan, place a strip of cheese over the "eyes" and let melt to give your toasted egg smile some "hair"

Lilah's favorite egg recipe is not a recipe-- just an egg over-easy (if I cook the yolk too much, she complains about it ::) ).  She also likes deviled eggs-- hard-boil the eggs, then slice in half lengthwise and pop the yolks out into a bowl.  Mash until smooth with some mayonnaise, a bit of mustard, a pinch of salt and pepper, and finely or grated chopped raw veggies, whatever you can get away with.  Spoon the yolks back into the egg halves and serve.
