my dd loves del monte carrots in the jar, but now that i'm trying to make my own baby food she totally hates my carrots. i just puree the bagged baby carrots from the grocery store...am i doing something wrong or maybe the flavor is stronger? thanks! traciejean

Are you steaming or boiling the carrots first? I know that may be a "duh" but one of my friends didn't - took me a while to figure it out.  The homemade carrots are much sweeter (when steamed) than the del monte.  They are also a little thicker.  You could try thinning down or mixing with something less sweet.

To start I mixed all veg with baby milk - whatever your lo is used to, ebm or formula. It helps 'ease' them into the flavour, and thin down the consistency a bit.

HTH :)

You could also mix your carrots with the jarred stuff.
