The Swaddle

At 6wks of age I let my daughter have one arm out of her swaddle when napping and for night time. In the last couple of days her naps have been horrid! (see my other posts about the 45 minute nap problem, possible binkie addiction etc..........)

I put her back in a full swaddle for her 10:15am nap today and she slept her entire nap time. Coincidence? Or exhaustion? Was it too early to let one arm out? The reason I put her back into a full swaddle is because when she wakes up her arm that is loose flaps back and forth smacking the mattress... thus losing her binkie and waking up etc etc etc......

I think if she sleeps better with a full swaddle, I would keep doing it.  She is still so young, so she may be needing it still.  Good luck to you!

We swaddled our LO until 4 months when he started rolling onto tummy and back, and it seemed to help with sleep tremendously.  I think sometimes it's not just what they hit when they flail about, but even that feeling of their limbs moving that can really startle them until they have more control.

lucmom - I personally think its more of an angel/spirited situation (does that even exist?) she is quite easy to put into any routine. Doesnt fuss much. But when it comes to other things LOOK OUT  its gotta be just right or she will freak out
