I think we created a sleep monster somewhere!
My 5 month DD used to be such a great sleeper - both at night and for naps. However, over the past 6 weeks things have dramatically changed and there's so many things that are "wrong" I don't know where to begin!
She's on a typical 4 hour routine, except her naps are only 45 mins long and she's waking up in the night. When she wakes up all we usually have to do is put her soother back in and she's back to sleep. But this can happen 3-5 times a night. And then she's awake ready for the day at 5:30 - much too early!
I fear that we have given into accidental parenting by supplying her with her prop - her soother.
I fear that because we go out 3 mornings a week (to mom groups etc) that I have forced her not to have a nice long morning nap.
I fear that because I go to school part time and she has to be at the babysitter's 2 afternoons a week that her afternoon nap has been cut short.
I fear that she's becoming dependant on her swaddle - she won't go to sleep without it but yet she manages to get out of it.
I'm confused about the W2S and PU/PD. I've read how to do it and when to do it... but am still so confused... Can someone please help? I want my angel baby back!!
** She's 5 1/2 months old; 18 lbs; we've just recently started solids 2x/day and drinks 6-8 oz of formula 5x/day; we think she might be teething but nothing cut through yet.
