night terrors
« on: October 13, 2006, 02:49:11 am »
hi there everyone...it's been a long time since I have been on here...for some reason having a toddler seems to be the time when you could use a lot of support, however, it's probably one of the busiest times...anyhow, has anyone had any experience with night terrors or know where I may access some useful info.

thanks in advance,
michele

How often are they happening?  My dd will sometimes wake screaming - we go in and soothe her by just patting her back or speaking quietly to her and she quiets back down. It seems to be decreasing in frequency for us.  We haven't had it formally diagnosed or anything, but it seems to fit the description I've read.  I've also noticed that it happens more often if she's sick or hasn't been getting enough sleep - poor naps, too late to bed, that sort of thing.

Hi there,
Just to let you know that there was a PP on this back in August
https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=68591.msg530244#msg530244
Hope this helps - we had TERRIBLE problems with night terrors so i really do sympathise with what you are going through, i found it so scary and it made me feel so very helpless, but as most people say, they usually grow out of it, although hard to be of any conciliation sometimes when you are right in the middle of it!  check out the info and bits of advice in PP - it may help.
Best of luck! :)
