pregers again and BF 10month old
« on: October 13, 2006, 13:35:19 pm »
Hi all! We got some exciting news of a new arrival as we planned. We wanted all our kids close together and so it seems to be working out that way!
My DS will be 10 months on the 28th and he BF around 4x a day no other supplements. We both love it however with the sore boobs and sensitivity, I am feeling like I want to stop. I wanted to go 1year then on to cows milk and feel guilty (which is a useless feeling I know) about thinking of stopping. Maybe I just need some support to keep going? I am a BIG advocate for BF but getting tired. Is it that important to go to at least a year? I am torn.

There is some great information about breastfeeding while pregnant on http://www.kellymom.com that might be useful for you to look at in making your decision and for support.

Congratulations and good luck.

Hi,

I don't know how far along you are but I found when BFing while pregnant (4x too) that the soreness and sensitivity passed by around 6-8 weeks. I continued nursing until around 4.5 months pregnant when DS was 13.5months because he was getting less interested.

Congratulations!

Thank-you all for the congratulations! It does not seem real! We are not sure how far along we are yet, we go for an ultra sound next monday to see that. I am guessing about 2 to 2.5 months. The soreness will go away is good news. He seems to be grabbing/squeezing and climbing on me alot more and using his teeth a wee bit when coming off. I am just tired alot and it seems to be draining me. I am determined to make it a year...like it is a majic number or something :)
