Yo Baby Yogurt
« on: November 03, 2006, 01:56:36 am »
Addison is 8 months, 3 weeks but was 3 weeks early.  So I haven't started meats or dairy.  The book I have says she can have certain meats and yogurt at 8 months.

What do you guys think about meat and yogurt?

I bought Yo Baby Yogurt today.  Has anyone heard of it?  It says it has whole milk in it.  I didn't think LOs could have milk under a year.  What kind of yogurt do you guys give LO?

Thanks.
Melissa

Hello again.  ;D

Brendan has been eating yougurt for about a month I think.  I started him on it because someone mentioned that it helps with consitpation.  I actually think it has helped some.  He eats the Yo-Baby and loves it!  I think there is a difference between having the milk by itself and in the yogurt.  Brendan's ped had no problem with him eating it.

Brendan has also been eating meats since 6mo or so.  I called his ped to check on meats because he was already through all the fruits and veggies and she gave the okay.  I would not recommend the individual meats becuase they have an odd consistancy and Brendan hated them.  He loves the meats plus fruit/veggie.  His favorite is Sweet Potatoes and Turkey, possibly because it was the first one he tried?

Jalyn's been eating the YoBaby for ages now.  It is different than drinking whole milk straight.  I also used whole milk when making cheesy pasta.

seeing you a lot.

addison has a problem with constipation also - the vitamins the ped put her on.  maybe i'll try yogurt tomorrow.

sounds like brendan likes to eat.  addison is a little picky and has a sensitive tummy so we still have quite a few veggies and fruits to try.  i've seen the jarred baby food meat and they look weird.  i didn't know you could get them mixed with veggies or fruit.  i make addison's baby food so i was wondering how you do meat.  maybe i'll try what brendan eats.

thanks.

When she is older, try the yogurt mixed with crushed Wheetabix.  Charlotte gets this for breakfast at least 3 days a week, and sometimes for another meal if she is feeling picky.  We also have milk issues in the form of lactose intolerance, but she is good with yogurt.

Nope, by chance her formula was 1/4 lactose of regular (Gentlease).  When we added 2oz of regular milk to start the transition, we got runny green and SMELLY diapers.  Ditto for cottage cheese.  So she is on lactose free milk, is cool with yogurt and cheese.  And about 3 bites of ice cream at a time, so sorbets for her.    ;)  We were doing the lactose free milk before talking to her doc, so we just stayed with that.  Soy milk just looks weird to me.

We did YoBaby and it was a bit runny for DD liking.  We switched to La Creme and she LOVES it!  I also found out from another mom who's LO has allergy/digestive issues that the nutritionist recommends La Creme over any other yogurt because of the enzyme content.  It's hear-say, and not why we use it, but was nice to hear it anyhow.

We started YoBaby a couple of weeks ago and DS loves eating it.  DS likes it mixed with fruit.

For the most part Brendan has been a great eater, he has only snubbed a couple of foods.

I buy all of Brendan's food, I tried making some and he just didn't like it as well.

I would talk to you ped if you think Addison has a problem with lactose.

We did YoBaby and it was a bit runny for DD liking.

We add baby cereal as needed to thicken it up  :)

Melissa,

Good luck with the Yo Baby yogurt.  DS loved it.  I think we started him on yogurt around 8-9 months.  I tried Yo Baby too and it is SOOO good.  So much better than the kind for adults.

i'm glad to hear it tastes ok.  i hate addison's food that tastes nasty.  that's the main reason why i make her food because i'm too scared to even try some of the jarred baby food.  like the jarred meat - yikes.  although i have chickened out on the prunes - i still haven't tried those.
