6 month old won't nap
« on: November 06, 2006, 23:05:05 pm »
We have been doing to EASY routine since our son was 7 weeks old and everything has been great.  He is now 6.5 months and he will not go down for a nap.  I will put him in his crib and he screams bloody murder.  At night he goes down very easily.   He has also discovered how to pull himself up in his crib, so it's even harder to get him to calm down.  He is still on a 3 hr EASY, so he is (was) taking 4 naps a day.  When should I try to get him to fewer naps and how?  He is not a long napper once he does go down.

It seems to me that the reason he has been fighting naps is that he probably isn't tired.  At 6.5 monts, you should be at a 4hr EASY and your son should be able to handle 2 hours of A time.

He does stay up for at least 2 hours.  He just doesn't nap that long - and never has been a napper.  Great at night!  Here's a typical day.

6:30 wake
6:45 bottle and cereal
Awake
8:30 nap
9:30 bottle
Awake
11:30 nap
12:30 bottle and fruit
Awake
2:30 nap
3:30 bottle
Awake
5:30 - nap sometimes.  this one is really tough
6:00 cereal and veggie
6:30 bottle, bath
7:15 bed
