dd does not hug anymore :(
« on: November 12, 2006, 09:07:56 am »
I feel a little silly writing this post as it was only a few months ago i wrote a post about how dd was driving me mad with seperation anxiety! She is so independent now she has gone the other way. She won't sit still on my lap anymore and certainly does not want to be cuddled...i really miss those hugs :(
Anyone any idea how long it will before before she will be happpy to hug again?

Is it Molly you are talking about??

Madi went through a phase of refusing to cuddle us a few mths ago.  Don't worry they get over it.

I know it won't be the same but Madi sends hugs for you

Awww! Thanks Madi ;D ;D
It is Molly i am talking about, Kester is very generous with his hugs. Molly, however, doesn't want to know, she just won't stey still long enough. Oh well like you say I'm sure it's just a phase.

Hard isn't it - either too much or not enough  :( Lisi's decided she can't get enough just now and it's driving me mad. I'll swap you for a bit if you like  ;D

Awww, it's awful when they don't cuddle isn't it? Dom went through a stage a few weeks ago where he wouldn't even let me hold him to give him his bottle. I had to sit next to him on the settee and lean across to hold it in his mouth.
Thankfully he's over it now and going through quite a snuggly stage!

I'm definitely enjoying the hugs and kisses that ds dishes out. The separation anxiety is frustrating because he won't let me out of his sight for very long, which I need because dd is a handful already, but those hugs and kisses are wonderful. I'll be feeling the same way when he decides to ration them out, though (I can see it coming - he's already doing it to dh). :(

She might just be at that age where she understand that you and her are two different people with different needs and wishes. Is she throwing tantrums as well? Scotty never hugged me until hubby and I completely let go of the idea of hugging. We just said that is the way it is and we can't do anything about it. Since then he comes to us and hugs, but only when there are no toys or light swtches in sight and he is quitely sitting on my lap before bed. I love it :) Wind down is the only time I ever get hugs now... Just don't force her, don't make her thing you catch and and will hold her on your lap, she needs to know that what she wants to to with her body is respected. It might take a while but hey - everything is a phase at that age :)
