4 bottles - 3....Need Help
« on: November 17, 2006, 16:09:09 pm »
Ok, we don't really have a routine right now except for feeds as she is erratic with her early wake times and naps.  I know we will be dropping down to 3 bottles shortly and I would like to be prepaired for it.

If she eats at around 6:30, 10:30, 2:30, and 6pm at what times do we do the 3 bottles?
How do solids work at this point?
When do I offer juice (we would like to start juice also).

Thanks.

My ds is 9mo and his bottle times were something similar.  He has actually only dropped a bottle in the last week - I found that he was taking half the mid morning one and half the afternoon one and he just decided to drop it himself.  Because he gets toast and water midmorning at his nursery I have found that the midmorning bottle is the one that's been dropped.  He now takes a 6oz bottle at 6.30am, 2.30pm and at bed at 7.30pm.  I give him 4oz water in a sippy cup with his meals (three meals a day) and he'll drink most of it.  He usually has porridge and a little bit of toast at about 7am, toast at 10am, lunch (such as casserole or pasta) with fruit for pud, a little pot of fromage frais or cheese stick at about 3.30pm and dinner at 6pm (again chicken/veg/pasta or similar) and fruit (even with a little icecream) for pud.  I just give water or milk at the moment but that's a personal choice to avoid juice.

He is very tall for his age but is 11.5kgs so is in proportion.  He also has a lot of teeth so that helps with the solids!

Melissa,

When we were on 3 bottles our E routine looked something like this.

7:00am - 8 oz bottle followed straight after by cereal

10:00 - Small piece of toast as a snack or bit of fruit.

11:30 - Lunch followed by a small yogurt

2:30 - 7 oz Bottle

4:30 - 4:45 - Dinner followed by a small fruit

6:30 - 8oz Bottle.

Paula...

When you say lunch and dinner...what would you serve?  Also, where did naps fall in to place with in your eating schedule? I know Grace won't be the exact same but I like to look over others routines to kind of see how things should somewhat be.  Thanks you so much Paula.

Melissa,

For lunch and dinner we would offer anything from pureed veggies to grilled cheese on toast, sometimes even jarred foods.

Our first nap was always early as DS could not stay up long enough, but he would usually go down at around 9:00 / 9:30 for and hour and a half and then our second nap was at 12:00 - this was usually for an hour.  Third nap was at 3:00 for about an hour to hour and a half.

Have a look at this link to see if you can get any more ideas from it:-
