sugar allergy
« on: October 06, 2005, 00:13:12 am »
just wondering if anyones baby has a sugar allergy.
I read on one of the links (in an announcement area) about a place to shop online and list your allergies and see what you can eat.  Well one of the foods on the list was sugar.
I know Jency will not tolerate it when I eat honey and I was wondering if maybe that is what he is allergic to.

I don't know of anyone with sugar allergy, but I wanted to commenton your honey.  I know you aren't given her honey, but you should be careful if you eat it.  Honey can contain botulism.  My doctor warned me to be extra careful having honey around before John turned 1.

I think a true sugar allergy is really rare - I've never heard of one actually. I do know some people who can't eat sugar because of candida (yeast) problems but that's a different story...

refined sugars have negative effects on everybody.

people (of all ages) who are more prone to sugar reactions (hyper, yeast overgrowth, sugar highs and lows) should especially avoid it. pre diabetic conditions can be passed down through generations.

sugars that naturally occur in fruit are better for you, but do have the same effect on the body as refined sugars. sugar.. is sugar.. is sugar. its all the same to the body

keep in mind too that bread, pasta and the like converts to sugar in the body.
