Stayng dry through the night
« on: November 20, 2006, 17:25:21 pm »
I'm having trouble with my son who is almost 8 mos.  He wakes up every night because he's wet.  I've tried everything to keep him dry, but I'm out of ideas.  On the rare night that he stays dry, he sleeps 12 hours through the night without a problem, so you can see why I'm desperate to keep him dry!  Any ideas?  I've tried a larger size diaper, a normal size diaper with a larger over it, a diaper with a folded washcloth inside, I've even stuck a maxi pad inside the diaper.  Please help!!!

We do use Pampers Baby Dry.  I'll try poking holes tomorrow as he's already in bed for the evening.  I've never seen Diaper Doublers.  Do you know if they're at Babies R Us?  Thanks!

Babies r Us does sell the doublers, but it is basically a super size maxi pad, so I would use that as well.  Just put it in the middle of the diaper and away you go.

I have always used Huggies overnights and I get one size bigger than what my lo uses in the day.  I can count on one hand how many times my almost 10 mo has woken up wet, and if he does it is usually because he is close to the next size up.

Good luck ;)

Here are the doublers:  http://www.tinytots.com/shopping/tushies/tushies_mates.html

Nowa days (10m) we use 2 doublers and an huggie overnight, the next size up.  Owen is never wet, and he is a super soaker.

Good Luck

I second using either the diaper doublers or Huggies Overnights.  The overnights absorb sooo much more than the baby dry - we have never had a leak with them.  Also, are you pointing his "goods" down in the diaper?

I run water through an IV all night so I can get the joy of padding his diaper with doublers!  Tonight I will do 3 just for kicks LOL.  8)

I appreciate your concern regarding my sons winkie, I assure you he is dry and comfortable.

OH!  Gena B the doublers work great - nothing is shriveled or wet actually.  ::)  I hope you find something that works.  We tried a bunch of things/different diapers and these were the solution.  ;D
