just a question...why do babies cry in their sleep?

My dh asks me every night practically why our ds will cry out in his sleep?  I have no answer, though I assume all babies do this.  It is such a short little cry but sounds so sad.

BTW my dd has started doing this over the last few weeks and i almost always never have to go into her bedroom.  It sounds normalish, i guess.  hehehe!

It looks like nobody knows

Mine too is a very quick cry and doesn't need me but I wonder if they are dreaming something...someone is taking their bottle away in their dreams

It is just that quick little cry.  As long as they aren't sad.  I think my dh gets more upset thinking he is sad.  I know it is just something babies do.....

Thanks Stacy, I never thought of it that way, but I guess we all do kinda make noise in our sleep and since they aren't really "vocal" it is all they can do.
