Moaning in sleep
« on: November 25, 2006, 09:22:27 am »
My ds is 8months and for the last week he has been moaning in his sleep.

His ears are a bit red inside and I have treated that, but he stills moans.
What could it be,is he just dreaming and should I wake him or could it be something else.

He is teething at the moment,so it may be that as well.
Should I pat him when he is moaning or just leave him.
Feel so sorry for him :-\

Hi there, in my opinion, i think it is probably related to teething? if it were me i would leave him alone(for fear of waking him) have u tried giving some pain meds before bed, that may help.

I would think that he's just dreaming, if he was in pain he would wake up. Becareful about what you give him before bed if it has dye in it it may make him hyper and he'll be up a zillion times throughout the night.  I found this out the hard way...

Thanx for advice and yes it was teething.
He got 2 on Sunday, now he has 8!!Sjaim,the teething is realy bad,on Friday afternoon his daycare phoned and said he had a very high fever.
The fever was up and down the whole weekend and on Sunday morning the teeth were there and he was feeling much better!!
He also has a very bad cough during teething, but hopefully the sleep will get better ;D

Fingers crossed for you!  Good point about the dyes, we've never had that, but it does affect some.

Panado syrup makes ds wide awake and miserable.
We also found that out the hard way!
Dr said we should give him some every 4 hours for his ear infection and he was awake for 13 hours without any sleep, before I realized what the reason was......

Felt really bad,but thats how you learn ;)
