Decided to start the EASY routine today after Sean slept the whole night through last night for the first time. I can't believe that catching his sleep window, swaddling him, giving him a pacifier, and singing him a lullaby has actually worked -- TWICE -- in putting him down for naps today!!! He even watches me intently and contently while I sing and then when I'm done he simply sighs and closes his eyes while sucking!! I said to my husband after the first time, "I think somebody came and switched babies on us when we weren't looking!"
This sudden ability to fall asleep by himself is coming after months of acting like he was being placed into lava every time I put him into his bassinet!!!! Of course, now I'm thinking -- "Is he okay?" He doesn't have a fever and has been very active during his "A" times -- he's discovered how to grab things and has found this one particular stuffed animal feels really soft so he smiles every time he sees it. Is this a common fear though when suddenly your baby falls asleep on his own?
I can't believe it could be this easy!! I can't believe he's going to continue in the same way after today! Maybe tonight will be different -- I sure hope not though!
