Dreamfeed?
« on: December 14, 2006, 14:26:46 pm »
So far I have been unsucessful in a dreamfeed.  First night he wouldnt wake enough to feed (without really waking him), second night he didnt sleep till df time, uggg.  LO is almost 7 weeks with a bfing schedule of 2-2.5hours with nightfeeds at that rate too.
How do you wake them just enough to feed? I tried so hard, I was even expressing into his mouth with no luck.  I would love to try the df bc we really want lo to sleep longer at night.

Here is a link to the breastfeeding FAQ about dreamfeeds, maybe that will help.

Also, can you post your daily routine (feeds and naps, etc).  Maybe we can get a handle on the night feeds.

Proud to have breastfed for a combined total of 35 months

hi thanks for the link it was great.  I hadnt thought to try again at a different point in the sleep cycle.

We just started Easy, but our routine is a 2.5 hour routine.  Ideally our day would go:
E 7am
A
S 8
E 930
A
S 1030-11
E 12pm
A
S 1pm
E 230
A
S 330
E 430?
A
S 5-6?
E 630?
A 7-730pm bath
S 8pm

maybe the DF @ 10pm?
What about a catnnap in the evening? When?  DH gets home from work around 6pm, so we like to eat somewhere between 6-7pm.  The evening is when we fall apart sort of.

What do you think?

LO is 7 weeks Saturday, breastfed.  He wakes for feeds at every 2.5 hours or so all night.
