not too worried, but have a question
« on: January 03, 2007, 19:06:09 pm »
my son has woken at 5:30 yesterday and 5:00 this morning.  He rarely wakes in the morning.  usually will sleep from 7:30-7:30 with a DF at 10:30.  he cried both times and I went in and fed the first day because it was his hunger cry.  this morning I used shh/patt for 40 min. and nothing happened.  he stopped crying but as soon as I would stop patting or shhing he would start to cry agian.  never went to sleep so after 40 min I fed him and he fell asleep as eating.  both nights he didn't have a full feed so I don't htink he was "really" hungry.  the first night he didn't fall asleep as he fed just was done early.   I am wondering if it is transition time.  we just did this to a 3 hour plan and started having 45 min nap times.  now he is still doing the 45 min nap thing so I can't gage it off that.  I've been trying to extend his 45 min naps too with W2S but no real luck yet.

here is a typical day
E-7:30
A-8:00-9:00
S-9:00-9:45 (unless W2S works then usually an hour-hour 15 min nap)

A-10:00-10:30
E-10:30
A-11:00-11:30
S-11:30-12:15(use W2S same as fuirst nap)

A12:15-1:30 (sometimes will feed early so he can go to sleep)
E-1:30
A-1:45-2:00
S-2:00-2:45(Same W2S senario)

A-2:45-4:30
E-4:30
A-4:45-4:50
S-5:00-5:45 (try W2S but usually doesn't happen)

A-5:45-6:30 ( sometimes will feed early so he can get to bed earlier)
E-6:30
BATH
E-7:30
BED

So he has been waking between 5:00 and 5:30 and wont go back to sleep without eating.  any suggestions or am I right to say it is transition time?

I think you would do well to try and make the transition to 4 hour EASY.
