Help again with sleep!
« on: January 05, 2007, 10:42:41 am »
My lo is 1 in two weeks, and we have always struggled with getting to / keeping asleep! At the moment, we have just been doing pd for a few weeks as she was waking fequently in the night, and most night now, she sleeps through, or only wakes for a short period, but her new wake up time is 5am! She is very awake at that time, and no amount of pd works, so i'm wondering whether to try wake to sleep, try adjusting her day time naps, or just accept that she is an early bird.
our routine is follows
5am wake and milk 7ox
6am breakfast and play
9-11am any time between these, 45min-11/2hr nap also a snack at some point
1pm lunch
2-4pm any time between these, a 1/12hr nap
3.30ish milk 7oz
5.30pm dinner
6.30pm bath then bottle 7oz
7-7.30pm bed

She does go to bed quite easily at night, but naps can be a struggle, and as you can see are random. I was thinking of trying to prolong the morning awake time to eventually get to one nap, but I'm not sure what to do. She eats very well, and when not tired is very easy going. Help!!

You could try to limit the AM nap to only 45 minutes and then aim for a long one in the afternoon.  Lots of times that will happen before you can get to one nap.
