not quite or certainly not on a consistent basis. However, she is taking to finger foods a little more here and there.  Still no spoon from me even if she has one her self and even if she's eating a finger food. and I gave up on puree stuff.  I am trying to now after Stacy's suggestion to offer solids first before the bottle. I just started this so it's too soon to really say if there has been an improvement. I know this morning she didn't cluster feed like she usually does and she did eat a little finger foods.

if i remember at the same age Sasha refused point blank to be spoon fed the majority of the time.quite common with LOs.its their independent streak coming out!!!hope it starts to work out for you.

Hi there, Having just read the posts i just wanted to suggest that your gp/doc refers her for immunological screening just to check her immunity because she seems so susceptible to picking up bugs, bless her.  this could also mean that it's too painful to chew if she's experience ear pain even tho you think it's cleared up, IYKWIM?  It could be that she's one of these lo's that needs antibiotics to keep her system in check.  This is not unusual.

not so bad I guess. I have been writing in a different forum about her not napping well today when she's been consistently napping good all week. but other than that foods are well - that is also going ok. I try solids before bottles most of the time. She sits in her highchair at least 3 times a day. Some sittings she seems like she does a little better at times. It has to be finger foods. The other day my mom said when we visited - "i can't believe you call putting 5 peas on her mouth eating solids". LOL. Some sittings she eats nothign or barely eats nothign and other sittings she seems a little more interested and will look like she is at least trying to eat a little. I wouldn't say it's enough to keep her from wanting all her bottles - which results in at least one wake up most nights due to hunger. I just keep offering.

"I just keep offering" ~that is the magic phrase, that's all you can do. It's up to her to eat (or not eat!) I would limit putting her in her highchair to 3 times a day, no more than that. One off day of naps is not bad, you know!

ok knock on wood "lol" but she seems to be eating a little bit better. Some days better than others. Not sure if it's the same as other people at her age especially with all those months she refused to eat anything. still doesn't really accept the spoon but sometimes she does. for lunch today she had pieces of chix I bought from Hannaford 'chix mcnuggets', and mixed veggies. Breakfast...well didn't really eat anything...maybe a few bites out of toast.

Mary
sasha was never a big breakfast eater until she turned one.her two biggest meals were lunch and dinner. i never worried as i knew she was eating fairly well the rest of the day.
i think you are making fantastic progress regarding the solids!!!

as long as shes showing interest in solids for the majority of the time i wouldn't worry.Lo's appetites vary from day to day.

Things are still doing better. She still wont let me feed her which does limit some of the foods I can give her. I have recently been trying yogurt but she isn't taking to it much. been trying off and on for 2 weeks. I am still working on weaning her off the night bottle but I am watering it down. I'm also working on her not cluster feeding with her bottles during the day. She hasn't done it this week at all.  Of course I'm sure eating a little bit better helps with this. Lately I have her down to 4 bottles during the day which is actually good. She is 10 months old now. Some foods she likes

1. frozen waffle pieces
2. soups drained and than I give her like the spiral pasta(s), veggies, potatoes
3. If I make a roast with potatoes and carrots - she'll eat cut up potatoes and carrots
4. turkey dices from gerber
5. cheese
6. chicken from chix mcnuggets
7. piece of an apple where I boil it to make it soft and cut it up into pieces
8. veggie mate veggies in a can "has cut up potatoes, carrots mostly"
9. peas
10. cheereos, fishy snacks, crackers stuff like that
11. toast

that's pretty much it for the most part.

by the way althought she started eating a little better before this - we ended up buying a booster chair and she eats right at the table. better than a clunky highchair with that BIG tray you have to clean inside a little sink "lol". we don't even use the tray that came with the booster chair...she sits right up to the table.

sounds like you are doing great!!!although her foods are limited its tons compared to what she would eat!!!
we put sasha in a booster seat early as well.she much prefers the more sociable aspect of the chair.
i wouldn't be suprised if your LO wants to start spoon feeding her self early like my DD.shes always been very independent in regards to eating and could spoon feed herself by 13 months

ah figures just when she's been doing better with solids and we've had almost a full 2 months without ear infections she gets one. The doctor said one of her ears was a little red and raw and due to her history, they put her on medicine. He did say that if it was a routine physical and there was no history they might of not treated it so I'm guessing maybe it's not thattt bad. This morning and yeterday mornign I tried to give her the choices of cut up peaches, pear, and cantaloup. She was trying to eat them, but kept spitting them out and crying. The strange thing is...she drank an 8 oz bottle with no problems and eat a little bread and didn't act like that. Not sure if this week will be a decent eating solids week. I just got her down to 4 bottles a day too "lol" - not including the one she has somewhere between 2-4am which is 3 oz of formula mixed with 2 oz of water.
