EASY schedules
« on: January 23, 2007, 02:33:02 am »
Is it really imperative when starting EASY to do the get up at 7am routine? I didnt start EASY until my ds was 8 months so it was later in the game. I notice some mamas on the boards that have EASY schedules where their kids get up at 8 (which is what I am doing) Im just trying to see if having him get up at 7 makes a difference at all

I dont think it makes a difference...the main thing is to keep it consistent. I was a 730-8am wake up. And if it was earlier, depending on my son..we'd adjust accordingly. Consistency is the main thing though!

lol! yeah I know what you mean about trying to figure out good A time for when they are young. My ds was really into lights and sounds of any sort so rattles, mobiles, um lets see.. the musical star from the Baby Einstein playmat. He took that everywhere with him. Ive seen alot of people with those actually with young babies

Katsunflw - at this age, your A time is very minimal, you don't want to over stimulate your lo.  So your A time would consist of a nappy change or clothes change, a quick cuddle with mummy or daddy, then swaddle and get ready to settle for sleep.

If your lo is waking at 4:30 /5:00ish, I would treat this as a night feed, feed her in a dark room, keep any interation to a minimal and put her straight back to sleep.  She may then sleep for another 3 hours and give you a little more sleep, and you can start your day a bit later.

Mungsprout, Starting your day at 8 is fine as long as you are consistant.  If it works for you and your lo then it is fine.

oh 420-5am is when we all get up here... horses to feed and time to get ready ourselves!!  It is so hard to adjust to this EASY after 5weeks of NICU.... which is so backwards!  :)

What time do you go to bed to get up so early?
Do you want your LO waking up with you at that time, or no?

HA! we are up as hubby goes to work at that time, and I have to be out the door by 510 to do the barn chores, usually able to do a feed at 430 and ge ther down by 510 or so... then after feeding the animals, pump, shower, then it is off to work by 645.... so she has to be ready to leave at 630 to day care in a few weeks when I go back to work. I am getting in thei schedule now, so that it isn't a shock when I go back.

Wow, I take my hat off to you.  Sounds like you have a days work done before you even go to work.

Sounds like your lo is coping well though.
