How long does milk stay good?
« on: February 01, 2007, 21:20:32 pm »
I see toddlers running around all over the place with their sippy cups full of milk for hours!  So how long does the milk stay good?  I know that some of the sippy cups are insulated, how much time does this add?  I can only drink milk straight out of the fridge with ice, I hate it anywhere near warm, so I have no idea.  My lo is 11 months and we are going to start introducing milk really soon.  Thanks.

I often wonder about this too.  Surely the milk will go sour if it is left outside for too long.  I always put the milk away after about 30 min sitting at room temp.  Besides, we both like cold milk.   :)

when i did use those playtex insulated cups, i think they could go close to 3-4 hours!   :o

but, they were a pain cause they had those little valves, so annoying to clean.  i pretty much exclusively use those take & toss cups (dishwasher safe! ;) ), and i think no more than an hour is okay (like the formula guidelines) - any more & i'd worry about bacterial growth & curdling.... ew!!

i have a couple small insulated bags (like a lunch bag) that i can put portable ice packs in for when i take milk on the go.
