What does the "show appreciation" under my name mean

Think it has been asked before put can't find the posting

Hi Hun

Here's a quote from Helen that explains it perfectly:

Showing Appreciation is a way we can all thank each other for our kindness or advice and support.. or whatever we want to thank each other for... all you do is click the "Thank You!" that you see under peoples names and their showing appreciation score will go up.

Of course you cant see your thank you as you cant thank yourself.. just everyone else..
