I need HELP for a friend with a 3.5mnth old.
« on: February 13, 2007, 22:56:32 pm »
Hi Everyone :),
I am writing in for a girlfriend of mine who has a little boy who is 3.5mnths old. I hope I can get some advice for her. Here's her problem......

Her DS has been sleeping thru the night since dec. He goes to bed at 9pm and sleeps thru to 6am. Recently he came down with a cold.  The past week he has been going to bed at 9pm but waking at 12am, 2am(having a bottle), 3am and 6am. The 12, 3 and 6am wake up, he is crying in his sleep and she has to stand and put her hand on his back and he stops. If she goes to leave to soon he will cry again.
She is exhausted, and needs some advice. It almost sounds like seperation anxiety to me.

Any suggestions would be great ;D  Thanks Tracey

hi, well 3,5 months is a bit too young for SA... ;)

maybe it's just a growth spurt and/or teething? is he drooling much? and showing any other signs? and more hungry during the day too?
what;s his daily routine?

plus- if he's recovering from ilness, that's pretty normal to be off track with sleeping/naps etc. may take some time to get back on track.

Thankyou so much monica for responding to my post :D

I read up on some of traceys suggestions and we think he may be having a growth spurt. My friend is going to try to give him a df at night to seee if that helps. He wont take extra ounces during the day but gobbles up a whole bottle at 2am.

Thanks again for taking the time, Tracey

no problem :)

remember she should not give DF too late as it may interfere with his sleep.
and keep us posted how they're doing :)
