Is a milk allergy genetic?
« on: February 28, 2007, 03:53:00 am »
my baby is a "happy spitter," so I'm just exploring options. I'm curious, is a milk allergy genetic? no one in my family has any allergies and my husband's family is the same.

thanks in advance!

It's frequently genetic but not always. However, if your baby is a happy spitter, it's highly unlikely that he has a milk allergy (that would cause more painful spitting and other issues like GI pain, rashes, etc). Sounds like he just has an immature LES and will likely grow out of it soon.
