Nearly 7 months, seperation anxiety?
« on: March 01, 2007, 09:12:51 am »
Hi there,

My baby boy has been a pretty good baby about going down at night to bed.  He almost always wakes after 40 minutes, and usually giving him his paci and a little reassurance settles him down and he goes off to sleep for the night.  However the last 2 nights he has been waking after 40 minutes then when we go in shush him and give him his paci he goes quiet but as soon as we leave the room he cries.  We are in and out for over an hour before he eventually goes off to sleep.  He is fine while we are in the room but as soon as we walk out he starts.  Could this be the start of seperation anxiety?  He is nearly 7 months old.

Routine:

7am - wake
7.30am - Bottle
8.30am - breakfast
9.15am - Nap
11am - wake
11.30am - bottle
12.30 pm - Lunch
1.15pm - Nap
3.30pm - wake
4pm - Bottle
5-5.30pm - Dinner
6pm - Bath/bedtime routine etc.
6.30pm - 7pm - Bed

I know he is up a long time from 3.30pm onwards.  We have tried a catnap but more often than not he isnt interested.  Usually he is pretty good natured until bedtime so its never been a great issue, though sometimes he doesnt wake from his afternoon nap until 4pm.  The above times do vary.
