Suzie,

They ARE really alike aren't they!!!!  Declan slept for 1hr50 this afternoon after a 2 hour awake time!!! I'm going to tweak things around with the awake times until I get it right (he'll probably be at school by then though!!! ::)

Does anyone know if on 3.5 hr easy is it ok to give a 2 hr nap if they are still sleeping or do you have to wake after 1.5 hrs and have the short A time before the feed? thanks!

i would say its ok to let them sleep til 2 hours but probably not anymore as you might start robbing the night time sleep - but as you can tell im no expert!

I looked at the sample routine for 3.5 hour E.A.S.Y and the part that confuses me is the end of the night?  It looks like we are supposed to cluster feed and then put them straight to bed?  At the moment I feed him (around 6:00 depending on the day) he stays up for about 15 minutes after his feed and then he's fussy so I bath him and then straight to bed.   It's works well so if there is supposed to be activity time after the last feed then I'm worried it's going to through off our routine.  Bath time is is signal it's time to go to bed!

E: 5.30 feed
A: inc. bath time
E: 7.00/7.30 (cluster feed)
S: 7.30/8pm bedtime
Y: the evening is yours
E: 10 or 11pm dreamfeed

Mama, if what you are doing works, don't change it, no matter what!  lol.  you are on to a good thing.  if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

the sample routine are just a suggestion to give you a rough idea.  as always, go with your LO and what suits him/her.

Good point - the only thing I'm worried about is that he will only get 4 feeds during the day if I don't give him that last cluster feed...

Suzie & Jules, how are you getting on with 3.5? Hope all good!

Mama, you can always add a couple of extra ounces to each of your other bottles.  Or try and squeeze in another short feed somewhere.  Without seeing your routine, kinda hard to say.  But you can usually work it in somewhere.

Much better, thanks for asking Lizziebeth!!

He now goes down for his naps unassisted- i just pop him down and he sorts himself out-ive been managing to extend his naps by waiting by his cot at wake up time and patting him back off but today he didnt wake up!!! Result!!! 2x 1.5 hour naps. I was ecstatic.

fingers crossed for tomorow.

still working towards 4 hour easy but im just watcing his cues and see how it goes.

thanks so much for your help on this
