8 months, rolling onto tummy and can't sleep
« on: March 03, 2007, 12:33:20 pm »
MY DD has had her issues lately for sleeping, we just got her back to sleeping through the night again.

Now, she is rolling onto her tummy, and get one arm out and up, while the other one is stuck under her, and she gets so mad, and can't fall back asleep.  So we have to go in there over and over to put her on her back, then she eventually rolls to her side and falls asleep, until she rolls onto her tummy/arm.

What can we do to help her get past this point?

Hi Willowonyx,

My dd would do that at nap time and bed time for about 1 week. I would go in her room and roll her over to her belly then roll her on her back. This is what they are trying to do, so I figure I would help her. I do that a few times enough to tire her out. Then she will fall asleep on her back.

They get frustrated because they are learning a new skill (milestone) and can't roll back. It will take her time. Sofia still hasn't completely rolled around yet but she is figuring it out.

I try just to go with it and not freak out. Believe me it is hard to do sometimes.

Good Luck
Dree  ;)

Also give her plenty of practice time in the day to roll back onto her back.  It is just developemental and it will pass.  I had to untangle dd or help her get back down to a lying position when she began to "practice" these skills during the night.  HTH
