kaleb hated mashed potato, he honestly projectile puked on it, and he still hates it!!!!!!!!! Kinda SUCKS!!!

Sophia hates mashed potatoes as well, Stacy...what's with that anyway?  I so thought she would love it!  Can you explain how you make veggie pancakes?  Batter mixed with pureed veggies????

Thanks  :)

That actually is quite intriguing...might give that a try for Sophia!

Kyler will only eat veges w/ applesauce mixed in warmed up.  Is this okay to continue w/ or should I try to ween the applesauce?

Also, since he got sick, he hasn't been eating much solids.  he was doing great; eating 3-5 oz each meal.  But now it's more like 1/2-1 oz for bf and lunch and hardly anything for dinner.  This has been going on for a couple weeks now.  he's on 3 bottles a day, usually 6-8 oz  for the first 2 bottles, and sometimes even 14 oz for the bedtime bottle!  Is this a normal pattern and/or should I be worried about the solids?

This may not be helpful for now but we got a GREAT tip on our birth board about adding a veggie mix to everything (thanks again Aisling for the 'swamp mix'!!  ;) ) Anyway if you have this problem when your lo is eating more solid foods you can use this idea, or even now if you wanted. We take carrots (for the beta carotene), spinach (or kale) (for the green leafy veg.) and fresh parsley (iron) and put them all in the food processor until they are finely chopped, grated or I'm sure you could even puree them. We add this mixture to so much of what he eats: scrambled eggs, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, pasta, soup... you name it and we will add it - we have had not one rejection and DP and I love it to! we now add it to our food as well. It makes sure that he is always getting some veggies in even if he isn't eating the veggies we put out. You can make a big batch and freeze them....
Anyway just a suggestion  ;)

apple, banana & pear go really well with carrots, squash and sweet potatoes (any combination)
you can also use any of these combinations in plain yogurt, when you add that to his diet

once we introduced cheese (8-9mo?), he ate more veggies... broccoli w/cheese sauce is still popular at almost 1yr.

good luck!  :)

I talked w/ his ped. and going to start baby yoghurt and cottage cheese this weekend.  Anything else; toast?  He don't have any teeth.

Riley got his first tooth at 8 months, but was gumming little bits of toast by then. Or I would tear off a tiny piece from my slice and just pop it in his mouth for him. He did in general prefer to hold his own piece though.
