Red bumps sign of allergy?
« on: March 07, 2007, 15:23:49 pm »
Our 10mo had eggs for the first time this weekend... only two small bites but did include a little part of the egg white.  He also tried pureed ham for the first time... are either of these highly allergenic?  I think I've read that egg whites are...
The day after he tried these foods, his bum had some small raised red bumps and in his crack was pretty red as well with some spots that looked bright red (sorry!).
I'm wondering if this is a classic symptom of an allergic reaction?
Thank you!

Egg whites are highly allergic and many doctors don't recommend them before a year. It's pretty hard to separate them out completely though. Does sound like a possible allergic reaction - I'd hold off on eggs again until a year IMO.
