Has 4 hour easy turned my 3.5 month into a 45 min napper???
« on: March 08, 2007, 11:49:18 am »
I am currently struggling with 45 minute naps and have been since ds was about 11 weeks - now 15. I have been racking my brains to what i have changed and the only thing is I changed his eating times from 3-4 hours at around 8/9 weeks as I noticed he wasn't that hungary at 3 hours and was at 4. Anyway he transitioned fine to the eating but since 11 weeks his naps have been all over the place  ???

His awake time varies from 1-2 hours usually 1 in the mornings and more as the day goes on. He is sometimes having 2 naps in the 4 hour period, sometimes they run into his feeding times - it is a bit all over the place do you think he is messed up by it??

Example of this morning:

E - 7.00
A
S - 8.00 showing signs put down finally settled himself at 8.20
A - Awake 9.35 (1.15 nap this morning)
S - showing signs of tiredness again 1 hour after awake but needed to feed at 11.00 so fed him and he fell straight asleep at 11.20

So next cycle is

E 11.00
A - none
S - 11.20

See what I mean - any idea's??

Would it be better if I changed to 3.5 easy? He always struggles to reach his 7.00pm feed as well as so overtired so if I did a 3.5 easy I could feed him at

7
10.30
2.00
5.30/6.00
DF 10.00

Maybe that would help with his extreme meltdowns at bedtime if he is fed and ready for bed a bit earlier???

What do you think??

Many thanks
Sherie x

hi
I think you're right and moving him to 3,5 EASY would help. he's probably continuously overtired hence those naps.

try following your 3,5 hrs routine and let us kno wif you observe any changes. don't expext too much too soon thou, it may take some time for him to get used to it.

good luck and keep us posted :)

I agree with Monika, definitely sounds like your lo is overtired and that the 3.5 hour EASY would suit your lo more.
