We thought we had our 18 month old trained, but now he's outsmarted us. He's not sick, maybe just teething, but he seems to be vomitting frequently to get out of sleeping in his crib. In the past, we used to read him 3 books, massage him, and feed him 9 oz. of cow's milk from a bottle and then take him to the potty. After which, we would put him in his crib, while still awake, and then he would put himself to sleep. Now, when we put him into the crib he starts crying, and then he works himself up to throwing up. He's done this in the past, however it seems like now he knows if he throws up then he gets to sleep in the bed with mommy. He's vomitted twice in the past 4 nights and last night he seemed to do it without really crying too much. By the time we end up cleaning the vomit, showering him, and changing his beddings, then we're too tired to fight with him, and too afraid that he may do it again, so I let him sleep with me. What should I do? How do we fix this problem. Here's what his day looks like:
Wake: 7:30 am
Feeding: 8:30 am - breakfast
Lunch: 11:00 am
Nap: 12:00 - 2:30/3:00 (2/5 - 3 hours)
Snack: 4:20 Bottle (5 oz) and small snacks
Bath: 4:45
Dinner: 6:30/7:00
Start bedtime routine: 8:15
Sleeps by about 8:30 pm
