Eats the same regardless of 2.5 or 3.5 EASY
« on: March 13, 2007, 17:23:07 pm »
My son is exclusively breastfed.  He is lower on the weight scale for his age, but above on his height.  He is 3 1/2 months old.  I am trying to transition him to a 3.5 hour EASY in hopes that he will eat a little longer.  But whether I feed him at 2.5 hours or 3.5 hours he eats for the same length of time.  I am torn because I want him to get as much milk as possible as he is lower on the weights.

Any thoughts?
Lyn

Hi Lyn,

Is it possible that your breasts are more full, so that although he;s on the breast the same amt of time, he's actually getting more?  How long have you been trying to extend him now?

He certainly might be feeding more effectively e.g. compressing your milk ducts more enthusiastically. It's not all about how many minutes.
