What temperments do your babies have? That can have a lot to do with this sort of thing. Colin's always been 200% spirited, and consequently he's a noisy sleeper. I still sometimes make the mistake of thinking he's awake when he's not. It can take a long time to learn the cries, and sometimes they're not different by much when LO is asleep vs. awake.

My DD is a total angel baby.  But she does have her very temperamental moments!  as in she only wants milk from mommy right now.  Bottles are right out and sippy cups sometimes.
but lately she's been not waking up so much at night, I've gotten her to wake up only one time a night (and that's without a DF too!) She was starting to wake up more times a night again but I flat out refused to feed her since it had only been two hours and she went back to sleep!  It was crazy!

you can say that again...obviously its not a learned behavior if they come out of the womb like that!!
