why do they return to short naps?
« on: March 28, 2007, 00:49:13 am »
My 4 month old son was an avid short napper until 2 weeks ago when it seemed like he was suddenly ready to sleep for an hour, 1.5, and once in a while 2 hours.

The last 3 days we have been working towards a 3.5 cycle, and he has had 2 hour awake times without much complaint.

Today though, after a weekend of making it 3.5, he screamed at every 3 hour mark for food, and then only took 40 minute naps.

Is that really common?

Sounds like a growth spurt. Also in my experience going back to short naps is a result of needing to extend awake time.
