time to drop df?
« on: April 02, 2007, 19:19:34 pm »
hi all,

my ds is 17 weeks old and in the last few weeks has dropped his night feed and goes 7-7am with df at 11.00.hes also been on 4 hr easy for about 2 wks

however now when he wakes at 7 he will play in his cot until i feed him. usually around 7.30 7.45 and when i do he just doesnt seem hungry and will fuss and refuse his bottle.

im considering dropping is df but am concerned that this will just cause him to wake during th night for a feed.

any suggestions?

 :)

oh the dreamfeed...i have a love and hate relationship with it! we do dreamfeed but still have NW!

you can always try dropping it cold turkey for a couple of days to see what happens in the AM? also, you can try making up for the calories from the dreamfeed by spreading them through out the day to avoid NW. there is a FAQ regarding this (sorry forgot to look up the link).

thanks nona- i have just posted on your thread. coincidence?!

one night i fell asleep and he was making his hungry noises at 11.30 but missing it might be worth a try when i am brave enough (just stopped the night feed and boy am i glad that one is gone!)

It is completely up to you.  If you find that your lo is not taking as much in the morning feed you can always try to reduce the oz you offer at the DF and see how your lo copes with it.
