For those that are on it, or have done it, are you allowed to add olive oil to your food or anything to give it some kind of flavor?
I have been using salt and pepper but that just doesnt seem to help much.

I'm not really sure - have you checked the Dr. Sear's website? He has some great advice on the elimination diet. Otherwise you can also try posting in the MSPI thread above.

I would be careful with olive oil as my son reacts quite bad to it. If you decide to try it maybe only use a tiny amount at first and see what happens. You could also patch test it on your childs skin to see if it causes a reaction.
