Hi.  Charlotte (14 months) has eaten prawns and loved them!  I would say buy them raw and cook them and serve them hot.  I wouldn't give C cooked cold prawns bought from a deli.  We do them on the BBQ or garlic prawns in a creamy sauce, yum!  She also eats fresh salmon now and again, and other fresh white fish fillets.  I think it's only things like fresh tuna, swordfish and shark that have high mercury levels (i.e. fish that eat other fish).  I think tinned fish is OK a couple of times a week.  Hope that helps!

Hi, I still haven't given my DS any shellfish yet because our pediatrician recommends the shellfish after 2 years.  However, I do give  DS cooked salmon and cod.

Fishes such as swordfish, mackeral, shark, tilefirhs and tuna have high levels of mercury.
