Allergy testing
« on: April 23, 2007, 21:32:09 pm »
all

I am b'feeding my lo and she has problems with gas pains on a daily and nightly basis

I have eliminated things from my diet before with no change but as the list of possible culprits I have read about grows and grows I was wondering about having allergy tests performed on me and my lo instead

Does anyone have any comments on how reliable allergy testing is and what to look / ask for?

Thanks

have you done the full elimination diet? I like the one on the  Dr. Sears website. I know it's really hard but at this age it tends to be the best way for determining the problem(s). Allergy testing is not usually very reliable under the age of 2 (although I know some that have gone after a year) and only shows certain types of allergies - not GI allergies or intolerances. I know it's hard - good luck and ask us any more questions you might have.
