my daughter is almost 5 months now.

7:40 dad leaves for work and mom takes over until ...
9am nap
9:45 wake to babble... shh pat and give her soother
11 am wake for bottle (4oz)
activities are usually tummy time, jolly jumper/exersauser/ then book then bed
1pm nap   (again with soother... well always  put to bedwith soother, otherwise won't sleep) sleeps through
3pm
activies are usually jolly jumper and a walk
5pm nap until 6
6pm 4oz with dad
7:30 bath
between  7:30/8pm lotion/massage bed
11pm dream feed 4 and occasionally 6oz
2-3 am 4oz]
6:30/7am wakes up ready to eat
now its
5:30 wake to talking and then I go in after about 15 minutes of talking to herself  to give her, her soother and re-wrap her and turn her to her side and she seems tot try to sleep for about 5 minutes and then babbles again... and then again after 15 minutes I do the shhhh, soother re-wrap and turn and leave...this lasts until 7am  dad tries to feed her but she only takes 1 oz
But hen she is tired by 8am

It sounds to me like the soother is definitely a prop. I'd definitely consider getting rid of it.

If you check out the props forum, there is a lot of information and support for that sort of thing. You have options, so consider what would be the easiest on you as well as Ellie. You could go cold turkey, but that can be pretty tough but it goes faster KWIM? You can use gentle removal, but that takes longer and thus requires more patience  ;)  There's a link to gentle removal in the FAQ section here.

I think I like the cold turkey idea! So will that eventually stop her babbling t 5 am??
If not do I go in there and shhh pat her to sleep? Or do I let her stay awake untill 7 am and then try to keep her up until 9am??

If she is just babbling, leave her be. Don't go to her unless she's crying-crying for you. I know how annoying it is to listen to, but if you interfere she will become dependent on that and it will interfere with the independent sleep process. Stick to your routine as normal, at least as much as you can. She won't like it much but she will quickly understand how things will be.
