I will try the darkened room tomorrow, do you think that her waking at the same time could be her using the paci as a prop?  Also how would I know what her development milestones are?

Thanks for responding

Her developmental milestones would be something new that she has just learnt or something she is just about to learn to do i.e rolling over.

When they learn a new skill, it can affect their sleep, as their minds are working overtime on practicing their new skill, and can sometime end up practacing it in their sleep.

Do you find that the pacci is causing problems any other time of the day?

Sorry didn't mean to sound stupid, I just thought you meant that there was a list of development milestones listed somewhere for approx ages.  Funnily enough she is trying to roll over & no the paci does not cause a problem any other time of the day - most of the time she doesn't like it and spits it out.

The trying to roll over could definitely be the culprit for the nightwakings.

It does not sound like the pacci is causing any problems - would keep an eye on it though to ensure that it does not become a prop.

Let us know how you get on with the feeds in the darkened room.

No I haven't tried that, but last night for her 7pm feed and 10:30 feed I gave her hungry baby formula and she lasted until 10 to 6.  I just feel like I've gone backwards because she slept until 7am from 6 weeks, she's 16 week on Tuesday.

She's still not fed very well today, I've been feeding every 4 hours do you think I should change to 3 hours to try and get her to drink more?  I changed it from 3 to 4 hours when she started being fussy with her feed.

I would try to go back to 3 hours and see how she goes - you may find that she will have a few more oz during the day.

stheo - what formula are you using?

The hungry baby formula in the UK can be used from when your lo is really young.  The only thing you have to watch out for is that your lo could become constipated with the hungry baby formula as it does contain extra iron.

Can you post a tyical feeding routine for the day so that we can have a look at it for you.
