Day sleep patterns start to emerge around 12-16 weeks with the a.m. nap generally developing first. At 13 weeks most babies on EASY are doing around 1.5 hrs of activity time between naps (just an estimate, each baby is different). But 5-6 hours is WAY long for her to be up. :o My 5 month old can make it 3 hours just barely, and that's only when we get out of whack with her routine.

Are you doing EASY? Does your lo seem cranky and out of sorts during the day when she stays up that long?

Babies get more and more "wired" the less sleep they get, so she may seem very happy and excited with no naps. Her day sleep patterns are still emerging, but by four months or so you may want to try and estabish an a.m. nap around 9 a.m., a p.m. nap around 1 p.m., and a catnap around dinnertime. She may never be a long napper but she does need to nap.
