Lila - Jasmine gets a fever with every damn tooth and is very cranky during the ay. So if its eye teeth or molars, they are alot worse in regards to pain  :(.

I am hoping that she is getting at least 8 teeth for all this!! I think I can see her eye teeth in the gum, but thought the molars were the next ones.... Isabella likes to be different!!!

Last night she woke at 3 and had a temp of 38.8. I gave her nurofen, a drink of water, changed her and put her back down. She was asleep again by 3.20 - unlike me. I couldn't get back to sleep. She was then up at 6.30, so she got a full 12hrs. Oddly she's not been that tired in the day time. She has kept more or less the same A time, she is doing 1hr for her first nap and we are waking her at 4 pm (about 1.5 hrs) from her second nap. I didn't get her to bed til 7 tonight either as I've been at work. I am expecting some OT, but it hasn't hit us yet!

She has been such an angel through this. Even on the first night she kept trying to go to sleep by herself...even though I was offering AP!!

How are things with you guys??

Jen - Anymore 1 nap days?

Layla - How is Jasmine doing? Do you think you are getting closer to the end? How long have you been doing the transition?

Hopefully we will be joining you again soon!!

Jasmine is doing ok. Still sleeps 40ish min in the morning and 1.5hrs in the pm. Woke up this morning at 5.30 but then settled back to sleep until 6.15am. I think if you are waking her at 4pm, 7 is a reasonable bedtime hour.

I don't think we are anywhere near the end. She is tired for her morning nap and I don't want to push her until noon. ITs too long for her.

I hope Isabellas feels better soon  :-*

Hey - Isabella finally seems to be better today. Went to the docs again yest as her fever was worse but I think it have been coming to a head. Dr said she could see 4 molars and 2 eye teeth in the gums, but only 1 of the molars is coming through. She said to expect months of this...at least now I know that teethuing can do this, I just kept worrying it was more than that.

Right 2-1....I messed up yesterday. She has more or less be sticking to 2.5 hrs day sleep naturally during this poorly spell. Even with all the NWs. Yesterday AM I was so tired that I thought I'd try for a little AM nap too! Anyway, put Isabella down at 10.00 and then I didn't wake until 11.35...oopps!! Woke Isabella just after that, but thought i'd be ok. as she could do with a catch up. WRONG!!! She wouldn't take her PM nap, so we had to get a cat nap in her buggy to see her through. She was then asleep by 6.45, up at 4 (pain) and then asleep Again until 7.15am (yipeee!). My question is, what nap time should I aim for today. She usually does 3.5hrs A time, but I'm scared to let her sleep past 11am. I don't think 30 mins or less is enough yet, so do I try to put her down early or let her sleep past 11?????

How are things with you??

Hey, I am so happy that she is doing better. Poor baby is teething and molars and eye teeth are the worst. I am glad though is nothing more serious than teething.

We're doing ok here. Yesteday Jasmine slept for 50mins in the morning and had a rubbish 45min nap and bedtime 6pm (but for some reason she didn't fall asleep until 6.30). Surprisingly she slept till 6am.... whereas she usually wakes earlier if she's had bad nap days so I am happy with that. Today I woke her at 45mins and she slept for 1hr10mins in the pm and went to bed at 6.30 (fell asleep within 10mins) so I am hoping for a 6am (or past) wake up. Actually tomorrow I am really going to stuff her up becuase we are going out for lunch at 12.30 to finally celebrate her 1st b'day so I am thinking of keeping her awake until 10.30-11am and offering her 1-long nap (lets hope she takes it) and going to put her to bed super early, like 5-5.30pm. I hope she will cope... there will be lots of people there so I am sure she'll get lots of stimulation. I just hope she doesn't fall asleep in the car on the way home cause that might refresh her enough and she won't go to bed till 8-9pm or something....

2-1....Try for a 10am nap but I would wake her at 45mins  (I don't think 30mins would be enough either... the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that 30mins is really towards the end of the transition and I only had to do 30mins with my Isabella at 15months, 2 weeks before she made the complete switch). So yeah, nap from 10am-10.45 and then aim for pm nap at 2.15-2.30pm. She will hopefully do 1.5hrs in the pm and bedtime woudl be around 7ish.... so hopefully you can have her sleeping past 6.30 again!

IF she is not falling asleep by say 10.30ish, I would actually forget the nap and try and keep her awake until 11.30ish. She should take a longer nap, possibly 2hrs long and let that be a 1-nap day. Bedtime I would do no later than 6.30pm (that is asleep by 6.30).

How does that sound?

That sounds great!! She went down at 10.15 and we woker her 11.......fingers crossed for this aft!

I hope you have a wonderful time at Jasmine's birthday meal. I also worry about occassions like that, but usually Isabella surprises me and does just fine. It's amazing the difference having people around makes. KWYM about falling asleeo in the car....I try alsorts to keep her awake, but if she wants to sleep she will ..through anything..if only she were like that in her cot! How are managing to keep Isabella quiet for Jasmine to take a longer nap? Having 2 and trying to transition must make it so tricky...2 kids...2-3 naps and I guess all different times. Do you get any Y time??

We are travelling to the in laws on Tuesday. It's a 3.5 hr drive, so I'm thinking about making that a 1 nap day in the hope she will sleep most of the journey!!!! Early lunch, then off. Stop for a snack when she wakes and then hope for the best for the rest of the journey!

I've got the spare room ready for you by the way!!!

Thank you so much. About 40people (DH comes from a huge family) so I am a little nervous. But it will be at Smorgys... since I am too lazy to cater for that many people and can't be bothered cleaning the house, lol. Smorgys is all you can eat so theres lots of different types and hopefully everyone is happy.

Lol, Jasmine hasn't slept in the car since she was a teeny weeny baby but if it looks like she's going to nod off... I'll ask Isabella sing the ABC or the "twinkle twinkle little star" songs.... she actually shouts them out more like it so that would keep Jasmine awake  ;D :P

How are managing to keep Isabella quiet for Jasmine to take a longer nap?
Isabella's room is at the end of the house and right opposite is the other "small" room. The main (master) bedroom is at the front of the house. Believe it or not..... for the last 9 months (which is how long we have been living here - renting actually), I have had Jasmine in the main bedroom and us in the other small room. The reason I did this was so that Jasmine wouldn't wake Isabella up and vise versa. Because the master bedroom is at the front of the house, you could practically hear our neighbours and in general the outside street noises really well. Even with the fan on, I found her waking/jolting with every car going past (its not a busy street thou) and with every neighbour closing the car doors, etc.... Anyways, our neighbour goes to work really early (5:45am) ..... so the other day I thought.... what if Jasmine keeps on waking up this early becuase she is actually woken up by him starting his car. Sounds crazy but at 5.30 in the morning, its extremely quiet and his garage is right next to her window so no fan would be able to block that out.... so I asked DH to swap us around. We have finally gotten our room back and Jasmine is at the end of the house right opposite Isabella...... which actually solves the issue with Isabella waking her up during the day. Because the tv room/kitchen, etc... is also at the front of the house, I found that we had to be super quiet when Jasmine was napping & I was getting really stressed about Isabella wanting to go into the kitchen or scream out when her fav songs would play. This is only day 2 mind you of the room change but for the last 2 days when Jasmine is napping in the morning, I don't really have to tell Isabella to try and be quieter because the noise won't reach the back of the house anyways..... I cannot believe how stupid I have been ALL these months. We did have the master room when we 1st moved here and Jasmine actually slept in that room with us (in her cot) until she was 6 months old. But after that, we left the cot and her in there and moved to the smaller room  ::).

"Y" time? What's that  ???  :P Actually when Isabella was transitioning I was 9months pregnant and throughout the really hard 3 months (12-15months) I had a newborn. That was really really tough! Now its really not too bad. So far its been fairly ok with the transition, other than the EW's and short naps here and there. With Isabella it was really bad because I hadn't discovered BW and when she hit the OT state at 12ish months, I finally googled 2-1naps and it led me to the BW site. The 2-1 thread thats going on at the moment is the very 1st thread I posted on. She was so OT and I was up with her several times at night.... so I guess this time around I kinda know what to look out for (like long A times).....

There is about 30mins Y time during the day. Isabella naps at 12.30-2 and Jasmine goes down at 1.30 but its nice to have the 1hr with Jasmine on my own and we usually have lunch just after Isabella goes to sleep, then wash up, pjs and quiet play with the ball or something. I just love being able to play with her when there is no one else seeking my attention, iykwim.... So that 30mins is usually BW time with a cup of tea and chocolates/sweets (I have a secret stash I take out when no one is around), lol

That sounds like a plan! 3.5hrs is a long time so she should be able to sleep most of the way... and if not you can also shoot for an earlier bedtime, lol. Is that 3.5hrs on the way back as well or are you staying there overnight?

You really do sound like you have it under control!! The room swap sounds great, it should make things easier for you as well as the bonus of you having a bigger room! Your special time with Isabella sounds lovely as well, and so cute about her signing / shouting songs to Jasmine in the car!!

Didn't go well again today. After 45 mins sleep and up at 11am, she was rubbing her eyes and lying on the floor at 2.00, so mum (she was with my parents as I went to see Jason Donovan last night!!!!) gave her her milk and took her to bed. She wouldn't go...... In the end they took her for a walk at she had 40 mins between 3.20 and 3.40. I've just got her home in the bath and straight to bed. She was asleep about 6.15.......Now what do I do? She is still in pain and still waking in the night. Could it be OT?? I don't think so as she slept 3 hrs in the day yest and then a 12 hr night (1 NW, but she wasn't awake long). It seems strange that she is tired and will go off in her buggy, but not her cot. Yesterday I was sure it was because I gave her too long in the am, but she only had 45mins today!

I don't want to go to in laws now, could just do with some time at home, with no more distruption. It's 3.5 hours wach way and we are going Tues to Thurs...more to the point, no BW, what will I do without you??    :'(

You'll be fine. And you know I used to worry about Isabella getting overtired and missing sleep and in turn I missed out on alot as well. I used to stay at home alot and when we were out and about I stressed so much about her being late for a nap, etc.... I am not so bad anymore.... although I still don't like to get her in bed late but if she's a little late for a nap or bedtime, I am a little calmer about the whole thing. If she keeps on fighting her pm nap or takes a short one, try morning nap 40mins - its still farily refreshing (better than 30mins) and then pm nap 3-3.25hrs later. Maybe she needs some more A time before her pm nap?

I've gotta go and get the girls ready for today's party. Isabella HATES her hair washed so I get dh to do it so gotta wake him up now. Putting then both to sleep at 10.30-11am in the hope that they will sleep till 12.30ish and then we can go.

Let me know how she did & I'll talk to you tomorrow

Hi - Hope you've had a wonderful time. How did it go?? Any pics??

Isabella was crying in her sleep a couple of times before we went to bed. She woke at 6am this morning, but that is fine as we didn't have any NW!!! Yippee. She is so tired this morning though. She keeps lying on her bunny. Will keep her up as close to 9 as I can though and give her 40 mins. I will then try to put her down again just after 1 and see how we go.....

Speak soon

Hey there! We had a great time. Very stressful though..... so many people and you have to make sure everyone is happy. I put Jasmine down for a nap at 10.30, in the hope that she would take a long nap but she only slept for 45mins  >:(. The poor girl was so tired and didn't take a catnap in the car on the way home either. Anyways, its 5pm now and I put her to sleep. She was misserable and I didn't want ot keep her up any more. At lease even if she's had 12hrs at night and is up at 5am, I can stretch her till 9am so we can start fresh tomorrow.

Yay Isabella for no NW! I was going to say that you might actually be able to keep her awake until her usual nap time or until 9.30 with a 40min nap and a pm nap about 1.30ish so that she is not in a cycle of going to sleep early and waking early...

I'm glad you had a good time, you never know maybe she will have a lovely 13hr night! That would be fantastic!

I failed!
Couldn't keep her up an longer than 7.40 this morning!! She was just so tired she is miserable. She slept for an hour and she has just gone down again at 12.15, but nasically she has been miserable her whole A time. This is so horrible. Where has my Isabella gone? I am sure she is now OT and I don't know how to fix it. She is also still off her food which worries me. She hasn't had a decent meal in a week now.

Not sure what will happen this afternoon. Do I leave her as long as she wants as it's early? Do I wake her at 1.45?? If I do, then I know how tired she is...this afternoon will be a nightmare. It will be easier if the weather was ok. but it's horrible so we can't go out without driving and then I am sure she would sleep in the car.

Hey there, wow she must have been really tired for her to go down that early.... I woudl let her sleep as long as she wants in the afternoon (probably no more tahn 2hrs), only because there will be a looong stretch till bedtime if you wake her and 'she'll probably get even more ot. If she's off her food, she's teething for sure. I remember Isabella not eating well but don't let that bother you too mcu. Toddlers are funny in that way, they tend to skip meals one day and eat like they have never eaten before the next. Try to offer her still and maybe look in the foods forum for some ideas...

The weather is crappy here too. Really cold & raining at times. I try and get mine phycial here - get the ball out and kick it or put some music on and dance... you know things like that. I hope she does well this afternoon.

With us..... I put J to sleep at 5pm. She only had a 45min nap and was absolutely exhausted. Anyways, I was ok with a 5am wake up but to my very surprise she slept till 6.30am! Thats the 1st time in a VERY long time she's done that but then again..... she slept so little during the day and she is no longer in the room next to the neighbour....so i am hoping the EW are fixed for once and for all!!!

Isabella had 1hr yesterday during the day and was mighty excited all afternoon so i put her down at 6.30 and she fell asleep straight away - she also slept till 6.30am.

Let me know how Isabella does with her pm nap

I really hope your EWs are fixed!

Isabella slept just over 2 hrs and then went back to bed again at 6.30. She was better than she has been all week that last stretch of the afternoon, even smiled a few times!! She is off her milk as well now which worries me. Would take any before bed, wouldn't take her pain med either :(

Lets see what the night brings..... do you remember how long molars took to come through with Isabella??
