8.5 mth DD--transition to later naps?
« on: May 08, 2007, 15:02:30 pm »
hello there,
i have had huge success with this board--nursekat has been a lifesaver.  So...if you are having trouble out there, hang in there!  this is where you need to be!!!
nursekat helped me get past the dreaded 45 min. naps by extending DD's activity time before her first nap.  that was about a month or so ago, and now i feel like she is ready to move to 5 hour EASY and three bottles which is what nursekat recommended at around 8 months, but i'm not sure how to do that.  here is our schedule as of now:

7:30am--wake up feed (6-8 ounces EBM)
9am--solids
10am--nap
11:30--wake up
noon--feed (8 oz)
1ish--solids
2:30--nap
3:30 or 4--wake up
4:30--feed (8 oz)
5:30--solids
8:30--feed (8 oz), night time routine, and to bed

of course, we have activity time between all the sleeping and eating.  she is on a GREAT schedule, but lately i've noticed that she could go longer between feedings and just yesterday we had the terrible 45 min. first nap (i got her to go back down pretty easily though) and we had a NW at 1:30 am and at 6:30 am.  both times she went back down, but she doesn't usually have NW anymore.  given the disturbed sleep, i'm wondering if she needs to move to 5 hour EASY.  what do you think???

thanks so much,

jey
