loot bags for 3 year olds?
« on: May 09, 2007, 02:41:50 am »
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this...but nowhere else seems to fit. :)

DS is turning 3 at the end of June and I am thinking about having a playdate/party for him with 3 or 4 little friends.  Does anyone have any good ideas for loot bags for 3 year olds?  I probably will include a little bit of candy and snacks, but what else?  They all have stuff like crayons already....would silly putty be too much? ;)  Hmmmmm.....

stickers, bubbles, crayons (i personally think kids always like to get new ones as they are forever breaking), a small yoyo or rubber ball, matchbox cars

imo... i'd shy away from the candy, but stuff like fruit snacks/gummies & crackers are pretty good.

stickers, and maybe those little containers of playdough - they make a party pack of about 8 small containers for only a dollar or 2.

and ditto to everything else that Deb said.  ;)

I included little story books.  If you are in Canada, they sell great little toys and books too at the 1$ store.

My nephew had loot bags when he turned 3, my sister put in goldfish crackers, play dough, stickers and a tiny bit of candy.  When the daughter of a friend of ours had a birthday, they put everything in a pail with the child's name in it and included a shovel, note pad, crayons, and stickers.  That was more of a "girly" party though. :)

My dd1 got one that had a headband, cute hairties, and a bracelet in as well as the usual lollipop, chocolate etc.  But I can't imagine it was that cheap (the birthday child had heaps of kids at her birthday party).  But those are obviously girls' things though.  Don't know much about boys!

Head to the dollar store and pick them each up a sand bucket and shovel... add a little thing of bubbles or an inflatable beach ball in the bucket or some side walk chalk... perhaps a sucker to top it off.  It's something you know they will use instead of all those dinky toys that usually end up in the garbage!

Thanks!  Those are such great ideas! :)  I think we are going to have a fishy/beachy theme party (since DS' current obsession is Finding Nemo) so the pail/shovel idea is super!! :) :)  Goldfish crackers too!  And a little storybook about fish!?!  If I can find one!  Yaaaay!  I'm so excited!
