decrease in poo?
« on: May 10, 2007, 13:05:16 pm »
My DS is almost 5 mo old and I have noticed that in the past week, he has not pooed not nearly as often as he used to.  I feel like before, it was a poopy diaper at least every other time.  These days, it's maybe once a day or maybe 2 small poos a day.  He is not on solids yet.  Is this normal- a developmental thing?  Or could he be constipated?  he is not really showing any unusual signs of discomfort or fussiness. (except his night wakings have gotten worse- but i think that is a sleep issue.)

At this age my dd could go over a week without doing a poo! If he were constipated he would be bearing down trying to go. Breast milk is very digestable, and can produce almost no waste. If he's not showing signs of discomfort I really wouldn't worry  ;D
